In this activity, faculty examine practical strategies for building patient-centered systems of care that ensure timely, equitable, and comprehensive biomarker testing for patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), with a focus on HER2 (ERBB2)-mutant disease.
This activity explores best practices for integrating comprehensive next-generation sequencing (NGS) into routine clinical workflows, reducing delays from biopsy to treatment, and implementing repeat biomarker testing at disease progression, recurrence, or the diagnosis of a new primary malignancy.
The faculty also discuss innovative approaches to extending expert care through multidisciplinary collaboration, Project ECHO, telehealth, and remote monitoring technologies to support patients receiving targeted and nontargeted therapies. Finally, participants will learn how to evaluate biomarker testing performance through meaningful data collection and quality dashboards that track key metrics, including time to biopsy, time to NGS results, and time to treatment, to drive continuous quality improvement and optimize patient outcomes.
By the end of this activity, learners will be equipped with practical, evidence-based strategies to strengthen precision oncology care pathways and improve access to timely, biomarker-guided treatment for patients with HER2 (ERBB2)-mutant NSCLC.
